Hasbro continues to take incremental share in 2017 with point of sale momentum behind its brands.

Despite slowing toy category sales in the first quarter, hindered by a later Easter, narrow-moat Hasbro appears to be continuing its share grab from Mattel, specifically in North America. While global sales for Hasbro increased a lackluster 2%, lapping stronger Star Wars and Marvel product sales in the year-ago period and ahead of film releases later in 2017, this compares with narrow-moat Mattel’s 15% sales decline in the same period.
