ING's banking operations will become more efficient with the full focus of management.

ING posted a good set of underlying numbers for its first quarter, supported by healthy core revenue generation. Total revenue came in at EUR 4.4 billion, an increase of 8% year over year. Underlying results benefited from robust net interest income, which was 3% higher compared with last year thanks to growth in the mortgage book.
