Despite Industrial Segment Headwinds, Ingersoll-Rand Generated Excellent Free Cash Flow in 2016
It continues to be a tale of two segments for narrow-moat Ingersoll-Rand, with its climate segment benefiting from strong HVAC sales and its industrial segment struggling to grow in challenging end markets. Once again, growth in the climate segment more than offset weakness within the industrial segment, and Ingersoll-Rand was able to grow fourth-quarter revenue 1% (2% organically) year over year.
