Despite Jazz's solid current position, Xyrem patent challenges create long-term uncertainty.
We plan to lower our $137 fair value estimate for Jazz Pharmaceuticals to account for our updated long-term outlook on Erwinaze sales and higher-than-expected research and development costs in the second quarter. In addition, thanks to the July inter partes review that struck down six out of seven patents protecting Xyrem’s restricted distribution system, we expect to increase our uncertainty rating to very high from high.
