Johnson & Johnson Faces Pressure From Ongoing Opioid Case, but Costs Look Manageable
Johnson & Johnson's stock is facing pressures from an ongoing legal case in Oklahoma regarding the firm's historical sales and marketing practices for opioid drugs. While J&J’s ultimate financial liability is uncertain, we have factored in close to $1 billion in legal costs related to past opioid drug sales. We continue to view the company's fair value estimate at $134 and don't expect the case to affect the firm's wide moat.
