NTT DoCoMo Forecasting Second-Half Recovery Following Slow First-Half Results
NTT DoCoMo’s second-quarter fiscal 2017 (quarter ending September 2017) result was slightly below our expectations on both earnings and customer additions, but we retain our forecasts, as cost-efficiency improvements should be second-half-loaded. Moreover, we still like the Japanese telecoms market as a stable 3-player market. NTT DoCoMo’s operating revenue of JPY 1,163 billion was down 1.4% year over year, and operating profit of JPY 270.5 billion was down 5.5% year over year.
