NVR's Asset-Light Homebuilding Model Drives Superior Returns on Invested Capital
NVR's stock traded up 6% on April 22 after the no-moat-rated homebuilder reported strong first-quarter results that featured a 15% year-over-year increase in home deliveries and a 7% increase in new orders per community. Total homebuilding revenue increased approximately 10% year over year to $1.6 billion as the 15% increase in deliveries was partially offset by nearly a 4.5% decline in average selling price to $365,700 per home. The company's mortgage banking operations also include separate subsidiaries that broker title insurance and perform title searches in connection with mortgage loan closings.
