PerkinElmer's Lackluster Growth Tracks Our Expectations; Shares Look Overvalued
Following PerkinElmer’s lackluster third-quarter earnings release, we do not plan on changing our $43 per share fair value estimate. Management trimmed full-year guidance, but our model forecasts were already pessimistic and now fall towards the bottom end of PerkinElmer’s new range. While we continue to view the company’s competitive positioning in the newborn screening business favorably, we are less enthused by its analytical instrumentation portfolio.
