Transferring Coverage of Prudential
We are transferring coverage of Prudential and decreasing our fair value estimate to GBX 1500 per share, or 2.3 times book value, with a no-moat rating. Prudential is predominantly a life insurer with product focuses on highly commoditised fixed and variable annuities and unit-linked health and protection. It is therefore difficult for the business to establish a sustainable competitively advantaged position that would lead to a moat.
