We Think Qualcomm Will Be Just Fine; Concessions to EU Should Help Close NXP Acquisition
Qualcomm has offered concessions to the European Union antitrust regulatory body regarding its pending acquisition of NXP Semiconductor. Concurrently, the company is being fined $773 million for antitrust violations in Taiwan related to its chip and licensing businesses. This amount is consistent with prior fines, and Qualcomm had $31.8 billion in cash and marketable securities on its balance sheet at the end of June.
