Silgan's increased focus on plastic packaging is a long-term negative trend.
As Silgan enters the fourth quarter, the company continues to check off milestones in its effort to meaningfully restructure its metal and plastic container businesses. A new, larger, metal container facility has begun commercial qualifying, allowing for the closure of a less efficient legacy plant.
