U.S. Building Materials Companies Rally on Making America’s Roads Great Again

Following the election of Donald J. Trump as America's next president, U.S. aggregates and concrete companies have rallied sharply, gaining roughly 15% to 20% in the two days since the election. On one hand, we think this makes sense. Unlike globally fungible commodities like steel or copper, cement, aggregates, and concrete are almost entirely consumed near their production sites given low value-to-weight ratios.
