Viacom Posts Another Strong Quarter; U.S. Affiliate Fee Growth Remains a Weak Point
Viacom reported a strong fiscal 2018 second quarter, as revenue and EBITDA for the quarter beat consensus projections. While the firm appears to be hitting its stride with respect to its restructuring plan, we remain concerned about the weak affiliate fee growth half way through fiscal 2018, which we believe highlights the challenges facing Viacom as OTT pay TV operators continue to gain subscribers.
