An “anti-Schumpeterian” process must be avoided after the COVID crisis

There is a risk that after the COVID crisis: The destruction of manufacturing jobs will be massive; And these jobs will be replaced by jobs in unsophisticated services; Debt and public aid will lead to zombie firms (companies that are overindebted, inefficient and invest little ). This means there is a risk of an “anti-Schumpeterian” process setting in, when it is usually hoped that crises give rise to a Schumpeterian process, where employment and capital shift to the most efficient companies.
