China cannot start a conflict with the United States and Europe today

China is now facing the prospect of sluggish growth as a result of: Population ageing and deleveraging, which structurally weaken domestic demand; COVID weakening it in the short term. To achieve the official growth targets, which are taken very seriously, China needs exports, especially exports to OECD countries, which account for a very significant part of its growth at a time when domestic demand is weak. Accordingly, it cannot do anything that would threaten growth in exports to the United States and Europe, which have been growing very strongly recently. Unlike Russia, China will take into account the impact of its decisions on its economy.
