China’s “sense of superiority” amplified by its performance in the fight against COVID

China has managed to almost eliminate the COVID epidemic, thanks to extremely strict management of the pandemic. As a result, China’s economic performance is considerably better, in 2020 and very probably in 2021, than that of Europe or the United States. This reinforces the Chinese leaders’ idea that the Chinese system is superior to the Western system, which will probably lead them to harden their position in trade, technological and geopolitical matters and to amplify their determination to develop abroad.
