Contemporary capitalism is liberal where it should not be and not where it should be
Neo-liberal capitalism is thought to operate with : Flexible labour markets, where wage earners’ bargaining power has been reduced; Free international movement of capital; Competitive goods and services markets , without companies in dominant positions. An observation of the functioning of capitalism shows that today’s labour markets and international financial markets function in a “liberal†manner, but that goods and services markets do not , due to the emergence of monopolies and dominant positions. Unfortunately, this is precisely the opposite of what would be desirable , where labour markets would be more conducive to wage earners , there would be curbs on the international movement of capital and dominant positions and monopolies would be combatted .
