Could the Chinese economy collapse?

Some observers have raised the possibility of China collapsing, like the Soviet Union did in the late 1980s. What could cause the Chinese economy to collapse? Its oft-mentioned o verindebtedness ? I t is important to remember that China’s debt is the domestic counterpart of highly abundant domestic savings, which is unlikely to be dangerous; A fall in growth? This is possible, given: Population ageing; The transfer of capital (savings) from private companies to inefficient state-owned enterprises ; The increase in unproductive spending (military spending, infrastructure, etc.), which may lead to a fall in productivity gains.
