ECB July meeting: Taking a breather

We donâ€™t expect any policy announcement at next weekâ€™s ECB policy meeting . Based on the latest data, the overall tone of the meeting is likely to be cautiously optimistic regarding the outlook for the second half of this year . At the same time, President Lagarde will stress continuing downside risks and the ECBâ€™s willingness to act again at any point should this be needed.

Since 2016, the Asian euro benchmark covered bond market has experienced substantial growth, with the outstanding volume now reaching €24bn. Despite this expansion, it remains a niche market, accounting for approximately 2% of the total euro benchmark covered bond market. The de-escalation between China and the United States dominated the week, pushing risky assets a little higher.
