EU and US re-start trade talks – threat of tariff hikes clearly reduced (for now)
President Trump and EU commission president Juncker reached an agreement yesterday in Washington t hat aims at reducing existing trade barriers for non-auto industrial goods , services , pharmaceuticals, medical products and soybeans. Although there are still many open questions, it seems that the threat of further tariff hikes for EU products and escalating trade tensi ons is now significantly lower, reducing the main risk for the growth outlook for the European economies.
