Euro area inflation increased in April
T he flash estimate of euro area HI CP increased to 1.7%YoY from 1.4% in March. The core inflation index (excluding energy and unprocessed food ) went up as well , reaching 1. 3 %YoY after 1.0 % in March . Both figures surprised on the upside (Consensus for HICP was 1.6% and for core inflation 1.1%).
