Euro area inflation rises further

Headline inflation keeps rising in the euro area, while core inflation is broadly moving sideways. We expect core inflation to rise in a more pronounced way in the coming months , as the service sector is opening up again and some of the inflationary pressure building up in the producer level is spilling over to the consumer level. But today’s core inflation figures also suggest that this process will not be explosive.
