Euro area PMIs decline in May
After a surprise increase in April, the composite PMI declined back to its March level. Both , the servi c es and manufacturing PMI recorded a decline, though from different levels. The details of the survey are (moderately) encouraging and there is no indication in the May report that the different geopolitical headwinds are pushing the euro area economy into recession .
