France from 2020: It is true that reforms are under way, but the macroeconomic situation will deteriorate

The French economy could benefit from the first positive effects of the reforms (labour market, taxes, training) from 2020. But it will probably also suffer from various macroeconomic problems: Rising oil prices; The shift to a more restrictive fiscal policy than in 2019; Loss of competitiveness and declining market shares; Effects of the decline in corporate profitability; Contraction in the automotive industry. The French government would have a problem if France’s situation deteriorates in 2020 despite the positive effects of the reforms.
