France: How large are the economic sectors hit hard, directly and indirectly, by the COVID pandemic?

We begin with the classification of France’s productive system into 38 economic sectors. We believe that the public health crisis directly affects five economic sectors (trade, transport, accommodation and restaurants, the arts, entertainment and recreational activities, other service activities) and five other sectors indirectly (agriculture, forestry and fisheries, manufacture of food and beverages, coking and refining, manufacture of transport equipment, manufacture of textiles, clothing, leather, shoes, etc.). These two groups of sectors account for 25% of GDP and 35% of employment.
