France: It would be good to base the economic policy debate on real mechanisms
The economic policy debate in France would be more transparent and democratic if it was based on "real" economic mechanisms, and not, which is sometimes the case, on untruths. For example, it has to be admitted that: All available studies show that an increase in low-skilled labour cost s has a very negative effect on low-skilled employment; Income inequality after redistribution is stable and low, thanks to large-scale redistributive policies; Income distribution has been in favour of employees for 20 years; The growth in companies’ dividends cannot have had a negative effect on their investment.
