France: To what extent is globalisation to blame for manufacturing jobs?

In France, it is often suggested that the country should move away from globalisation (through national preference, customs duties, aid for domestic production) in order to boost manufacturing employment. But what accounts for the manufacturing job losses in France? Globalisation, defined as the opening up of trade with emerging countries? Technological progress, productivity gains in industry? The deterioration in foreign trade with OECD countries, not emerging countries, or with European Union countries, which would show a problem of attractiveness and competitiveness for France ? The responsibility for manufacturing job losses in France can be broken down as follows: Globalisation: 7% Technological progress: 64% A lack of attractiveness and competitiveness: 29%. This shows that an end to globalisation will not be the remedy for the loss of manufacturing jobs in France.
