French Markit Flash PMI: Global slowdown in September
According to Markit , the French composite flash PMI, decreased strongly in September ( at 5 3.6 vs. 5 4 . 9 ) , more than expected , falling back toward its level from December 2016. Nevertheless , the index remained well anchored in the expansion area. Th us, French activity should continue to grow at a moderate pace . T he new PMIs decline reinforces the reversal trend which had been looming since December 2017 . Moreover, both the services index and the manufacturing one decreased in September . The se PMI figures are com patible with our GDP forecast of +1. 5 % on average in 2018 .
