Is Europe’s rebellion credible?

The European Union currently seems to want to rebel against the US-driven internationalisation of US law, the tax optimisation of the big four tech giants (GAFA) and China’s one-way international expansion in the absence of an opening-up of its own markets. But is this rebellion credible? Europe is not actually in a position of strength, given its: Lack of large new technologies companies, which makes Europe dependent on US or Chinese companies; Lack of large renewable energies companies, which makes Europe dependent on China (and Asia more generally); Weak domestic demand, which deters Europe from running the risk of a conflict that would result in trade retaliation .
