Is the euro zone’s economic performance really inferior to that of the United States?

To evaluate the economic performance of a country, one can look at: Per capita income and per capita productivity; Unemployment, the employment rate and the participation rate; Poverty and inequality. A comparison of the United States and the euro zone across all these criteria shows that: The euro zone is not disadvantaged by its labour market, thanks to a much higher participation rate than in the United States; Poverty and inequality are clearly higher in the United States than in the euro zone; The euro zone’s main problem is the decline in per capita productivity and therefore in living standards relative to the United States.
