Is there an anomaly in the trend in household purchasing power in France?

The French are complaining about their weak purchasing power. Is there an anomaly in the trend in French household purchasing power since the creation of the euro? We look at the trends in: Wages and income distribution; Welfare transfers and household taxes; Capital income. We first see that since 1999, households’ real disposable income has increased by 1.5% per year, i.e. by 0.5 % per year per household. We then see that: Real wages have increased more than productivity; Welfare transfers have increased as much as household taxes; Capital income has hardly increased. The complaints concerning the purchasing power of households that receive wage or welfare incomes, in a long-term perspective (and not by looking at only the first half of 2018), are therefore not justified.
