It should be realised that the current configuration for the dollar is worse than it was between 2002 and 2008

The dollar depreciated considerably between 2002 and 2008 . A sharp depreciation of the dollar is not expected at present , and yet the configuration for the dollar is worse than it was between 2002 and 2008: As a result of the economic policy conducted, the US external deficit will become larger and the external debt is higher; US interest rates will remain low; Central banks are no longer financing the US external (and fiscal) deficit; Some countries are "boycotting" the dollar. So we should not forget the risk of a steep depreciation of the dollar again .
