It would be better if wages were more cyclical

In contemporary economies (we look at the United States and the euro zone), wages have become relatively non-cyclical both in recessions and in growth periods. This worsens the economic situation: In recessions, by leading to a sharp fall in earnings, to which companies respond by sharply reducing their employment and investment; In growth periods, by skewing income distribution against wage earners, which weakens demand. It would therefore be more efficient if wages were more cyclical.
