Lockdown measures within Europe: different strategies, efficiency and future
European countries have principally chosen two different paths in fighting the virus. S ome first choose to lockdown the population (as in Hubei, Italy, France and Spain) and others choose to implement only social distancing policy (as in Korea, and Germany). In both cases, most of shops and schools have been closed. Thanks to these measures, new daily cases have been decreasing through a reduction of the reproduction rate of the epidemic. How the economic and social li fe will be back to normal depends mainly on how countries will succeed in handling the second wave of contaminations based on test ing .
