Might Brexit never happen?

The only possible solution seems to be for the United Kingdom to ultimately remain in the European Union, since all other solutions are rejected: A no-deal Brexit would send the United Kingdom into an enduring recession as manufacturing jobs repatriated massively to the European Union; From the EU’s viewpoint, the United Kingdom could only stay in the customs union if it adopted the EU’s technical, social and environmental standards and used the EU’s trade and competition rules. This is unacceptable for the United Kingdom, which wants to be able to sign bilateral trade agreements with other countries. As no solution involving Brexit is conceivable, the only remaining solution is no exit .
