The purchasing power problem will become very serious

We look at the situations of the euro zone and France. The problem of weak household purchasing power is rapidly getting worse , due to: Rising energy and food prices, when wages are poorly indexed to prices; Rapidly rising real estate prices and, as a result, housing costs; The highly negative real return on bond savings; The continued shift in the structure of jobs towards poorly paid service jobs. Governments and companies are going to come under strong pressure to find ways to stabilise household purchasing power.
