The starting point for this whole trade crisis is weak US exports: What accounts for this weakness?

The growing pessimism among companies and investors is due to the amplification of the trade war between the United States and China and the risk of a currency war, and this situation results from Donald Trump’s determination to restore US exports. So the origin of the current crisis is therefore the weakness of US exports. But what is the cause of this weakness? Econometric analysis shows that it is not a real overvaluation of the dollar, but the mismatch between the supply of goods and services produced in the United States and global demand. I t is therefore the bad quality or the insufficient diversification of production in the United States that explains the weakness of US exports, an idea that Trump obviously rejects.
