Two options if Europe became Green

The latest European elections have demonstrated the growing electoral clout of the Greens in Europe, particularly in Germany. Climate and environmental concerns are becoming increasingly important to public opinion in European countries. This points towards two options: Either a slow reduction in CO 2 emissions, a t the pace of the rise in installed capacity of renewable energy production and technological progress is made (electricity storage, hydrogen, smart grids, zero-energy housing, etc.); Or a drastic reduction in CO 2 emissions, which would require a contraction of all CO 2 -emitting activities (transport, industry, electricity production, etc.). Th is “radical” , rapid vision of the fight against global warming would lead to a loss of production and jobs, resulting in it s rapid reject ion .
