What should economic policies focus on addressing in the post-COVID economy?

We are interested in the urgent areas for economic policy in the post-COVID economy. They include (we illustrate our analysis with the case of France): The need to reskill and retrain for different occupations a large number of workers who will have to change economic sector after the crisis, due to the large shift in the sectoral structure of the economy; Contributing to improving corporate balance sheets, which have been severely eroded by the crisis under the effect of the fall in earnings and the increase in debt: support for equity increases and debt restructuring; Implementing redistributive and macroprudential policies that prevent a considerable increase in wealth inequality in the very likely event asset prices (equities, real estate, etc.) rise sharply due to the highly expansionary monetary policy; Preventing the further deindustrialisation of the economy that systematically follows recessions, with a policy to boost the country’s attractiveness for industry.
