What will Germany do if the deterioration in its economic situation is permanent?

Germany's economic situation has deteriorated markedly in the recent period, and there is reason to think that this deterioration will last. How could Germany then react to this situation? If we look at what happened in Germany in the early 2000s, also amid a pronounced deterioration in the German economy, Germany might now: Abandon its fiscal austerity and switch to an expansionary fiscal policy; Conduct non-cooperative policies against the other euro-zone countries: reduction in labour costs, tax competition.
