Will emerging countries that are going to have a very large population in the future have the same capacity as China to increase their per capita income?

We look at those large emerging countries whose population is growing rapidly and will be large in 2050 and beyond. These include India, Indonesia, the Philippines, Ethiopia, Pakistan, Nigeria, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Egypt. The challenge for these countries will be to be able to increase per capita income, as China has been, despite the growth in their population, and therefore to maintain significant productivity gains (which requires sufficient infrastructure, an increase in the level of education of the population, sufficient investment, a healthcare system of sufficient quality, etc.) For the time being, we can be rather optimistic about India, Indonesia, the Philippines and Ethiopia, but rather pessimistic about Pakistan, Nigeria, the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Egypt .
