New Street: German CEO/ CFO field-trip notes Market structure and pricing is rational

We recently held meetings with the CEO of DT Germany (Srini Gopalan), the CFO of Vodafone Germany (Anna Dimitrova), the CEO of Telefonica Deutschland (Markus Haas) and the CFO of 1&1 (Markus Huhn).

The German telecoms market has been a model of rationality in a turbulent European sector, and our take-away from the field trip was that the rational market dynamics should persist in future. In this note we discuss the main topics discussed, including: retail market dynamics, FTTP deployments, regulatory changes, 1&1’s network build, and much more.
