Where is Broadband in the Permitting EO?
President Trump issued an Executive Order (EO) designed to accelerate permitting, primarily by limiting environmental reviews and increasing the use of technology. As broadband service providers have often sought accelerated permitting for building out broadband networks, the question is whether the EO will accelerate, while lowering the costs of, construction. In this note, we describe the EO and analyze its likely impact on broadband construction.
