Compagnie des Alpes : Q4 sales above expectations but caution rife in the run-up to the winter season
>Theme park footfall less affected than forecast in Q4 - In line with Q2 and Q3, the pandemic context continued to weigh on Compagnie des Alpes’ (CDA) Q4 sales, although not as much as we had expected in the summer, especially for theme parks. CDA posted Q4 sales down 28% to € 132.2m (vs € 113.4m est.), i.e. a decline in full-year sales of 28% to € 615.6m (vs € 596.9m est.). Compagnie des Alpes SA is active in the leisure park industry through its subsidiary, Grevin & Cie SA, which manages leisure sites in France, the Netherlands, Germany, Belgium, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. It offers three types of activities: theme parks, nature and animal parks, and tourist attractions. It operates in France, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, Russia and Luxembourg. In April 2014, it sold 30% stake in Groupe Looping to HIG Capital France, and announced the agreement with MacEarth and the aquisition of 2.5% stake in the company.
