Today’s announcement that Carlos Ghosn is resigning as CEO of Nissan while retaining his position as chairman did not trouble markets: First, because the appointment of Hiroto Saikawa as co-CEO late last year indicated that a management change was on the cards; second, because Mr. Ghosn still heads the group, so is likely to remain involved, at least in the strategic decision-making process.
