As of Apr 18, China announced it would end a 50% ownership cap for auto manufacturing by all foreign assemblers by 2022. For EV production, full foreign ownership will be allowed from this year on, and for commercial vehicles from 2020 on. Analyst Julie Boote discusses the changes in and implications for the automakers.
