New data published by Japan’s Cashless Promotion Council this week provides further evidence of the growing use of QR code payments [QRCPs] in financial settlements. In 2022, the number of QRCPs rose+40% YoY to about 7bil transactions – surpassing the number of e-money payments of 5.9bil transactions for the first time. Thao Nguyen comments.
