The PSA Weekly Research Round up for the Week to 18 October 2024

Weekly Comment Summary
Headline inflation in September fell to +2.5% YoY from +3.0%, which sounds deflationary.
However, JGB yields rose on the news, in part because the number was in line with expectations, and perhaps – as Pelham Smithers suggests – it might also be because low level inflation appears to be becoming normalized.
