CIS EUROBOND MARKETThe negative global backdrop pushed Russian Eurobond quotes slightly lower yesterday. The Russia 47 retreated 0.2 pp to 102.3% (YTM 5.1%, Z-spread 257 bps). Short issues fared better, and the Russia 22 even managed to close with a modest gain to 103.1% (YTM 3.3%, Z-spread 105 bps).GOVERNMENT DEBTThe drop in risk appetite yesterday triggered a 1-3 bp rise in yields on OFZs longer than 5y. Trading activity was elevated in short-dated issues. With the OFZ 26216 maturing tomorrow, it appears that some local banks have preferred to sell the issue and buy the 1y OFZ 26214 (May 2020, 6.40%) in order to meet liquid asset requirements.
