Debt Markets Today - January 14, 2022. Alrosa Reports 2021 Diamond Sales
CIS EUROBOND MARKETA deterioration in the geopolitical backdrop caused quotes on long-dated Russian sovereign Eurobonds to drop as much as 4 pp intraday yesterday, though by the end of the session the losses were pared to 3.5-3.7 pp. The negative trend persisted in the euro-denominated segment as well, where the losses amounted to 1.5-1.75 pp. GOVERNMENT DEBTOFZ yields surged yesterday as investors reacted to increased geopolitical uncertainty and the pickup in inflation early in the year. Yields up to the 5y mark shot up 35-40 bps, while further out on the curve yields climbed around 30 bps on average. Trading volumes on the Moscow Exchange rose to the highest level so far this year, exceeding R50 bln.
